Midland's jobless rate edged up in May as more people entered the workforce seeking seasonal jobs but not all of them found employment.
Midland's seasonally unadjusted rate hit 6.8 percent, up from 6.5 percent in April, according to the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget. Midland's total workforce grew in the month, with about 450 more people employed and 150 more people unemployed.
