Gov. Rick Snyder recently appointed local residents to the Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging and the Michigan Long-Term Care Supports and Services Advisory Commission. "These skilled individuals will provide their talents and expertise in health and long-term care. I look forward to their work as we continue to provide our aging and vulnerable Michigan citizens with quality care and service," Snyder said. Appointed to the Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging is Jeffrey Schade of Midland. The commission is a 15-member body appointed by the governor. It advises the governor and Legislature on coordinating and administering state programs and priorities that affect Michigan's older citizens. A majority of the members must be at least 60 years of age and no more than eight may be from the same political party.
