$49 million downtown plan OK'd

Developers of a proposed $49 million, 230,265-square-foot retail and office building across from Dow Diamond shared details about the project with the Midland City Council on Monday night. Midland Downtown Partners LLC brings together Lansing-based Caddis Development and The Gillespie Group to redevelop the land at the former McKay Press building, 215 State St. Kevin McGraw, president of Caddis Development, said they want to add to a vibrant downtown. "We're trying to bring a lot of energy to downtown so people want to be here and have not just this area, but the whole downtown, full of people," he said.
