Hot Rods beat Loons

The Great Lakes Loons lost 5-2 Sunday afternoon to the Bowling Green Hot Rods in front of 4,070 fans at Midland's Dow Diamond. The loss dropped the Loons (29-26) into a fourth-place tie with the Hot Rods in the Eastern Division, and kept them the Loons two games behind Fort Wayne in the race for the final playoff spot with 15 games remaining. Bowling Green and third-place Lansing already clinched playoff berths in the first half of the season.
