People who need food to help tide them over to the start of school will receive free food in a Saturday giveaway at the Floyd Church of God parking lot. The giveaway, sponsored by Filling Midland's Cup, will last from noon to 4 p.m. There is no preregistration, but people will be asked to register when they arrive. That is because Filling Midland's Cup is part of the Midland County Emergency Food Pantry Network, which keeps records of where the food goes, said Connie Glave, part of the Filling Midland's Cup team. "Anybody who comes and says they are in need, we take their word for it," Glave said.
