Center Stage Choirs of Midland Center for the Arts will hold auditions for new members for Center Stage Youth Choirs on September 6, 2012. Auditions will take place in the Lecture Room of MCFTA and are by appointment only. Information can be found at: http://www.mcfta.org/Choralgroups.html#yhc. Center Stage Youth Choirs is open to students entering grades 3 – 8 in the fall of 2012. Singers should have in-tune, unchanged singing voices, must be dependable for making all rehearsals and performances, and must be able to stay on-task for the duration of a rehearsal. Prelude (3rd – 5th graders) is directed by Heather DeGroot; Intermezzo (5th – 8th graders) is directed by Tracey Kempsell; Lyrica (6th – 8th graders) is directed by Linda Hohner-Foster.

Chorale is a mixed-voice choir that performs a wide repertoire of music. Members are expected to read music and have a background in choral music. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 p.m. Auditions consist of vocalizing, sight-reading and aural comprehension. Preparing a song is optional. This season’s performances are November 11, 2012, December 15, 2012, February 24, 2013, and April 6 -7, 2013. Directed by James Hohmeyer.
