Esan completed his residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. While at SUNY Downstate, he also completed fellowships in cardiology and clinical electrophysiology. In addition to his fellowship training, he is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine and nuclear cardiology. He received his medical degree from the University of Lagos in Nigeria.
