Dow Corning waste permit up for renewal

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Resource Management Division intends to issue a hazardous waste management facility renewal operating license to Dow Corning Corp.

The license would allow Dow Corning to continue storing hazardous waste in containers and tanks and disposing of waste containing lead in the landfill at its facility, 3901 S. Saginaw Road.

The MDEQ will accept public input on the draft license through Aug. 29.
