Demand exceeds supply at Backpack Giveaway
The Midland County Department of Human Services, Midland Noon Exchange, and Dow Chemical Michigan Operations combined resources to provide back-to-school supplies for those in need.
The event started at 9 a.m. Friday and was to run until noon. But, by 10:30 a.m. everything the organization had to give away was gone with the backpacks running out much sooner.
