Daniel Carela to join Loons pitching

RHP Daniel Carela has been signed by the Dodgers from the Joliet Jackhammers and assigned to the Great Lakes Loons.

Carela played in the Dodgers organization last season for the AZL Dodgers and Rancho Cucamonga. The Wallace Community College (AL) product spent 2009-10 in the New York Mets organization.

After spending spring training with LA, Carela spent 2012 with the Joliet Jackhammers. In 36 appearances he compiled an ERA of 3.00 and struck out 41 batters in 36 innings. Carela, 24, did not allow a single run in his final seven outings for Joliet.
