Five “Golden Tickets” will be hidden in chocolate bars being sold before each show and during intermission of each performance of Willy Wonka! Lucky families finding a Golden Ticket win the privilege of an on-stage photo opportunity with members of the cast after the show, a keepsake show poster – signed by cast members! – a DVD of the 1971 film, and a basket of delicious goodies from Heather ‘n Holly in downtown Midland! Just $3 per bar; 2 bars for $5. Proceeds benefit MCFTA’s Art from the Heart Scholarship Fund.
FLYING BY FOY
The Las Vegas, Nevada, company provides the specialized equipment to simulate flying on the part of cast members. The company has provided audiences with thrills since 1950’s, when they staged the flying for Peter Pan on Broadway. The company has “flown” many stars over the years, like Dean Martin, Lucille Ball, Dinah Shore, Cher, and Stephen Colbert to name just a few! In 2004, they provided the equipment to fly Nadia Comaneci over Times Square, delivering the Olympic torch to the City of New York on its way to Greece for the Summer Olympics, as well as providing the central imagery for the opening ceremonies of the 2004 Summer Olympics.
