Dow tennis' Austin Woody sets state record

Congratulations Austin!
In the midst of their undefeated season, one of Dow High tennis' own, Austin Woody, has set a new state record for "consecutive singles win record."

Woody's record-breaking 61st consecutive singles win came Saturday as Dow improved their record to 12-0-0 when they beat Grandville, Birmingham Seaholm, and UD Jesuit.

"Austin set a state record and didn't even mention it as he was too involved cheering on his teammates," stated Dow coach Terry Schwartzkopf. "Individual accomplishments are great, but this team is zeroed in on the ultimate prize...the state championship."

Woody finished last season 39-0 and is currently 21-0 for the year. He will look to add to his record on Tuesday when Dow faces SVL opponent Saginaw Heritage at home.
