Army 1st Lt. Justin P. Buell returned to Headquarters U.S. Army Alaska, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, recently after a 12-month deployment with the 716th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
Upon completion of his overseas tour of duty, the lieutenant was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, NATO Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two stars and the Overseas Service Ribbon. Buell is a 2001 graduate of H.H. Dow High School in Midland.
