On Fire! Dow High Tennis goes 12 for 12

The Dow high tennis team improved its record to 12-0-0 on the year besting Grandville 7-1, Birmingham Seaholm 8-0, and UD Jesuit 8-0.

Austin Woody set a new consecutive singles win record for the state of MI today. According to MHSTeCA (The coaches site) the record is 60 by Aaron Krickstein. According to the MHSAA (where records are required to be verified) Krickstein holds the record with 56.

Austin was 1-0 his freshman year in singles, played no singles matches his sophomore year, was 39-0 his junior year and is currently 21-0 this season. Therefore, according to either site he has 61 consecutive wins.

Dows next match is Tuesday against SVL opponent Saginaw Heritage at home.

"I am proud of this entire team." said coach Terry Schwartzkopf. "They continue to strive and improve. Individual accomplishments are great, but this team is zeroed in on the ultimate prize...the state championship."
