Although weather prevented the balloons being inflated for view, there was still a crowd gathered at the intersection of Ashman and Main as more than 15 pilots lit up the downtown district with their burners in the opening ceremony of the RE/MAX of Midland balloon festival.
Weather should be better for today's 6:00 pm launch from the Midland Fairgrounds.
