Dunkin' Donuts closes its doors today

After 20 years of business, the Saginaw Rd. Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins will close up shop today for the final time, as owner Timothy Letcher and his wife have decided to retire. A written note by the cash register, Monday, expressed Letcher's thanks to the restaurant's loyal customers and stated his desires for more family time in his decision to retire.

Patrons will most likely remember Dunkin' Donuts for their signature brand of coffee, and perhaps most notably, Munchkins, a popular donut hole pastry.

Restaurant employees noted their close proximity to another popular Midland bakery/coffee shop, Tim Hortons, but were quick to point out the restaurant isn't closing for financial reasons.

The restaurant's equipment will be available for sale at a 10 AM auction on September 26th. Equipment includes that which is used for refrigeration, baking, ice cream making, and beverage making, among other items. Interested persons can learn more about the auction and available items by visiting http://www.wegnerauctioneers.com or by calling Wegner Auctioneers at (989)-793-8689.
