MSU outmatched in 20-3 loss

Midland's Andrew Maxwell and the MSU football team never reached the endzone Saturday, and were only able to muster a field goal for their only score of the night against Notre Dame.

The loss dropped the Spartans in the Top 25 rankings from No. 10 to No. 21, and also ended MSU's 15-game home winning streak.

Maxwell completed 23-45 passes for 187 yards and was sacked four times, after the Spartans didn't yield a single one in the first two games. MSU looks to right the ship next week at home against Eastern Michigan, with kickoff at 3:30 pm.
