Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris tops list of Michigan's highest-compensated executives outside Detroit

Outside of Metro Detroit, Dow Chemical Co. Chief Executive Officer Andrew Liveris makes more than any other chief executive in Michigan. According to Crain's list of publicly held companies outside of Metro Detroit, Liveris came in on top, earning more than $40.65 million in 2010 and 2011 in total compensation. Though Liveris's salary was $1.74 million in 2011 and $1.69 million in 2010, the rest of his compensation came in the form of stock awards, non-equity incentive and retirement,  option awards, and other income. The Midland-based Dow Chemical had a net income of $2.78 billion in 2011, and $2.32 billion in 2010.
