Midland's downtown district expanded to include Northside Overlay, Stadium districts

Downtown Midland has been expanded significantly after the Midland City Council unanimously approved an ordinance expanding the area within the Downtown Development Authority's jurisdiction Monday night at the council's bi-monthly meeting. The five-member council approved an ordinance that adds the area to the north of the current downtown district known as the Northside Overlay District as well as the area to the southeast known as the Stadium District, which includes Dow Diamond, 825 E. Main. It also approved an ordinance amending the Tax Increment Finance Authority, or TIFA, district.
