The first time Otherwise Broken played a forerunner of ROCK the Tridge, “I wasn’t even in the band,” said guitarist, lead singer and songwriter Larry Cleveringa.
But when the Christian rock band from Holland returned last year to the family festival’s Battle of Bands — it comes Thursday, Aug. 2, to the park in downtown Midland — the musicians took third place among nearly a dozen contenders. That was enough, along with Cleveringa’s award for best vocal performance, to bring them back again with a sound he calls Black Sabbath and Judas Priest with a message.
