Local CPAs offer perspective on white-collar crimes in light of couple charged with embezzling $1 million from Midland dentist
As a Bay County jail officer and his wife sit in jail on charges of embezzling about $1 million from a Midland dentist, some area accountants have offered insight as to how such white-collar crimes occur. “This type of fraud happens frequently,” said Stewart J. Reid, certified public accountant and partner with Weinlander Fitzhugh, 1600 Center Ave. Kenneth J. and Stephanie K. Cieslinski, were arraigned Tuesday in Midland County District Court on six felonies between them. A judge entered not guilty pleas on their behalfs.
