Loons fall in extras to Wisconsin 5-4


The Great Lakes Loons dropped the first game of their series in Wisconsin to the Timber Rattlers, 5-4 in 10 innings. Ben McMahan hit a solo home run off Matt Shelton (1-4, 2.40 ERA) with two outs in the bottom of the tenth to send the Rattlers to victory. Raydel Sanchez (3-4, 4.03 ERA) started for the Loons, throwing six innings while giving up four earned runs. With the loss, the Loons fell to 11-14 during the second half of the season, 4.5 games behind first-place Lansing.
