Midland County Jail revenue goal: $2 million
Midland County officials are breathing a sigh of relief as they’ve seen revenues for the county jail explode. After many months of concern over the need for funding from housing inmates from other jails, revenues continue to climb. The county realized $1,479,200 in 2011 and the 2012 budget initially included a revenue projection of $971,000, but that figure has been revised to $1.2 million. Midland County Sheriff Jerry Nielsen has much higher goals in mind. “The goal is $2 million and I think we can reach that,” he said.
