Dow Chemical offers remediation to 9 Midland homeowners, working with others on buyouts

Dow Chemical Co.'s work to clean dioxin-contaminated homes is moving ahead of schedule. After initially planning to test 100 properties in the city of Midland for the toxic chemical byproduct, Dow crews are moving on to test about 50 more. It's part of the Midland-based chemical manufacturer's plan to adjust the cleanup as crews move along, letting data drive where crews test. "We're making real time adjustments. We'll see that throughout the project lifetime." said Carrie Houtman, Dow spokeswoman. "I think it's a positive sign that shows Dow's commitment to move forward. We're committed to going where the data will take us."
